Somnath is a significant town located in the western part of Gujarat, India. It is renowned for the famous Somnath Temple, one of the most sacred and ancient Hindu temples in India. The name "Somnath" means "Lord of the Moon" and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is considered one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines, which are believed to be the holiest abodes of Lord Shiva.
